Teaching Team
The Master is run in a collegial manner. This means that the teachers and supervisors run all details of the curriculum, including the student’s personal projects, the ceremonies and the ice-breakers. The representative students are involved in the decisions as they are participating to the jury or to the annual council. This gives them the taste of responsibilities and they can provide a feedback on courses so the teaching team can improve or adapt the content.

Frédéric Bouchette
DTRN / Sensibilité aléas géologiquesMy research focuses on sand beach dynamics, and more especially the modelling of shoreline instabilities. In the master courses, I run teachings in relation with shoreline dynamics, coastal hazards and nearshore hydrodynamics mainly.

Bénédicte Cenki-Tok
DTRN / Sensibilité aléas géologiquesI am a metamorphic geologist and currently directing the Master’s degree Earth Dynamics and Natural Hazards.

Matthieu Ferry
DTRN / Sensibilité aléas géologiquesI am a geomorphologist specialized in active tectonics. I teach theoretical and practical courses dealing with surface processes. In addition, I co-organize the 10-days seismic hazard field trip in Central Italy with M2 students.

Aurélien Gay
Parcours GERHe studies migration and expulsion of fluids (water, gas and oil) in sedimentary basins, known as fluid pipes and pockmarks, using various techniques as 2D/3D seismic interpretation, well-log analysis, basin modeling and field work on analogues. He teaches 3D seismic interpretation and petroleum geology.

Stéphanie Gautier
DTRN / Sensibilité aléas géologiquesI am working on geophysical imaging of complex media from depth to lithospheric scales. My objective is to characterize active structures at depth and understand the relation with deformation observed at the surface. The methods and development I use are near-surface geophysical tools and seismic passive tomography. My key interests are active faults, landslide, continental rifts … Continued

Flavia Girard
Parcours GERI’m lecturer in sedimentary geology. My interest is in siliciclastic (in particular glacial) environments. I teach equally in class and in the field general geology, siliciclastic and carbonate sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy and digital mapping.

Frédéric Gueydan
DTRN / Sensibilité aléas géologiquesI am a Professor in Tectonics, mainly working on continental lithosphere rheology (short term and long term) and on geological records of subduction dynamics.

Benoît Ildefonse
DTRN / Sensibilité aléas géologiquesI am a structural geologist and petrologist working on the formation of oceanic crust at mid-ocean ridges. I participate to the “tectonics and lithosphere dynamics” course with a lecture on mid-ocean ridges. I also propose and organise the course “preparation to professional integration and scientific communication”

Christine Leredde
Parcours GERMy research focuses on cyclicity with wavelet transforms, interpretation of well logging data and borehole electrical images. I am involved in courses including drilling operations, well logging and interpretation, surface processes in sedimentology (tides, deltas, rivers), atmospheric circulation, ocean-atmosphere interactions and global warming.

Didier Loggia
Parcours GERI work in the laboratory of petrophysic at “Geosciences Montpellier”, studying the hydro-mechanical and transport properties within rocks. I teach courses of petrophysical properties of rock and rock mechanics.

Stéphane Mazzotti
DTRN / Sensibilité aléas géologiquesMy research specialities are geodynamics and geophysics applied to active tectonics and earthquake studies. I am involved in classes dealing with geodynamics (1st year), active faults, and earthquake hazards (2nd year), as well as field studies.

Manuel Munoz
Parcours GERHe studies mineralogical processes leading to the concentration of metals in ore deposits, combining different approaches such as fieldwork, experimentation and synchrotron techniques. He is a full professor in charge of the 2nd year (M2) and he is teaching ”Mineral Reservoirs”.

Fleurice Parat
DTRN / Sensibilité aléas géologiquesI am a petrologist and geochemist applying my research to volcanology and economic geology. In my research I focus on magma genesis and differentiation, redox processes, magma-fluid interaction, and more specifically on the role of volatile (solubility, degassing and transport) in different geodynamic environments.

Roger Soliva
Parcours GERHe is in charge of the Master program « Géologie de l’exploration et des Réservoir » (GER). Most of his teaching and research lies on structural geology, tectonics and field geology. In the more advanced degree he lectures faults, deformation bands and fractures from field to mechanics and their role for fluid flow. His work is based … Continued

Alfredo Taboada
DTRN / Sensibilité aléas géologiquesI teach geomorphology and natural hazards through theroretical classes and fieldwork in order to assess landslide and geotechnical hazards using quantitative methods.
