What is your current employment?

I am currently a PhD student at Géosciences Montpellier (Montpellier University). My project is entitled: “Rheology of faults: towards a geological and mechanical understanding of the seismic-non seismic transition”.

Which skills are required?

My PhD work requires skills in numerical modelling of physical problems as well as a solid background in observation and description of microstructures present within fault zones. Soft skills in oral presentation are also required.

How has you Master’s degree prepared you to your current employment?

During my Master’s degree Dynamics of the Earth and Natural Hazards, I acquired the knowledge necessary for a deep understanding and assimilation of my thesis subject. The research-oriented teaching units allowed having a first glimpse of the world of research. In particular I really appreciated the numerous discussions about research articles. I also acquired communication skills that I could use in my many oral presentations.
