What is your Curriculum?

Before the Master DTRN, I had a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. After the Master DTRN, I continued with a PhD thesis in sismotectonics at the centre de l’Energie Atomique (CEA) and the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris.

What is your current employment?

My thesis focuses on the variations of mid-crustal seismicity in the Himalayas of Nepal and its relations with the tectonic structures. I do field and office work.

Which skills are required?

In addition to knowledge in earth sciences, I need the following skills: computer skills (computer programming and not being afraid of learning languages, making scripts …), a good expertise in English (written and oral), communication, enjoying the field, curiosity and the desire to learn.

How has you Master’s degree prepared you to your current employment?

The fundamentals in geophysics in the broad sense and technical expertise in the use of geophysical instruments, the computing and modelling skills and methods to assess natural hazard.
