DTRN / Sensibilité aléas géologiquesWhat is your Curriculum?
2008/2011 – Bachelor’s degree PCSTM (Physics Chemistry Earth Sciences and Mecanics) option Earth Sciences at Rennes 1 University.
2011/2013 – Master DTRN (Earth Dynamics and Natural Hazards) Université Montpellier II
2013/2015 – Engineer in Geophysics, Fugro Geoid
2015/- — PhD CIFRE (collaboration between a company –Fugro- and an academic lab -Géosciences Montpellier-)
What is your current employment?
My activity at Fugro contains four aspects:
- Measurements and calculations GNSS (scientific softwares, Bernese, Gamit-GlobK, field numerical models…)
- Gravimetry (measurements and calculations)
- Combination of geodetic and geophysical measurements (GNSS, Leveling, gravimetry…) in order to monitor structures and subsidences
- Offshore measurements and calculations (Bathymetry, sonar, sediment sounder, magnetism measurements …)
Which skills are required?
Knowledge of scientific calculation software, knowledge of measuring devices, writing of reports and proposals in English, adaptation to field work conditions.
How has you Master’s degree prepared you to your current employment?
The knowledge in geodesy and geophysics learned during the Master are the background I need whatever the project. The diversity of topics and subjects (geology, geophysics, geodesy, geotechnics, geomorphology, hydrology …) also leads to a wider scientific culture and allows a better understanding of the problems of these same projects.
